they/them grandson

here is a collection of art; art that inspires me, art that I love, art that I rearrange into music, art that I hate, art that I feel indifferent about, art that I feel embarassed for enjoying, and art that I wish to support.

Light Moves

- a substack belonging to a wonderful writer who I happen to know and love in real life :)

Mario Perez

- a collection of digitized home movies shot by a gay cuban immigrant living in new york. He had a habit of filming his friends and family while they were doing nothing interesting. This collection is inspiring to me and captures a lot of wonderful moments

The Sonic Dictionary

- a collection of sounds I use this a lot to find interesting ambience and short specific sounds, they also have a few interviews/speeches that I love to draw inspiration from.

Outsider Music

- a youtube playlist made by Flower Punk that is full of historic as well ass more modern recordings of outsider music. I love to look at a lot of this music for ideas and even sample some of these pieces.

Queer Music History

- Benigma Siren’s youtube playlist of vintage queer music. I often look to this when I feel estranged from my ancestors. Because I may not be much like my blood family but I will always fit into my queer family.

QZAP

- The queer zine archive project. I love this. I love looking at other people’s amazing work.

Digital Transgender Archive

- a trans archive, I really appreciate that this archive has a map, not every item in the archive can be mapped but I enjoy seeing evidence of queer and trans people from places im from.

Sample CDs Archive

- the internet archive’s collection of sample cds. I love using these to help create instrumental sounds. They have a lot of really interesting instrument clips and beats.

Sapitfire Audio

- this is a plugin I use very regularly in my daw. The free version is amazing and has a lot of cool and specific synths and instruments.
